About the role

MYXA is seeking an Experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team. This is a casual position supporting clients with a range of disability support services. The role involves empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and achieve personal goals.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised support and assistance to clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and community access.
  • Collaborating with clients, families, and care professionals to develop and implement support plans.
  • Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote wellbeing and community inclusion.
  • Maintaining detailed client records to ensure high-quality service.
  • Advocating for client rights and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment.
  • Participating in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in disability support services in a SIL setting.
  • Experience working with clients with challenging behaviours.
  • Understanding of person-centred approaches and empowering clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
