Disability Support Worker Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Disability Support Worker, providing high-quality care and support to individuals with diverse needs.

About the Role

This Disability Support Worker role involves providing direct support to individuals in their homes, communities, or residential settings, promoting independence, dignity, and choice.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, therapists, and other support workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each client.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personal care and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming;
  • Assisting with mobility, transfers, and ambulation;
  • Supporting clients with meal preparation and nutrition;
  • Encouraging social interaction and community participation;
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in client health, behavior, or well-being;
  • Participating in regular training and professional development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2+ years' experience as a Disability Support Worker;
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Certificate III in Individual Supports or Certificate IV in Disability;
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, National Police Check, Vaccinations (including COVID), CPR & First Aid, right to work in Australia, 100 Points of ID, Driving Licence and access to a reliable car;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, problem-solve, and use life experience along with integrity, honesty, and reliability;
  • Full driving licence, access to a reliable car & comprehensive car insurance;
  • Capacity to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team;
