About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Practice Leader provides guidance and leadership to grow our teams and promote best practice, quality, and safety in delivering NDIS services.
The Practice Leader ensures adherence to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework and person-centered, clinical governance, working closely with services to identify and deliver measurable improvements in quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Day-to-day, the Practice Leader:
- Creates programs for community participation and respite tailored to individual needs
- Supports the team in delivering excellent care, monitoring key performance metrics
- Oversees the quality of the customer journey
- Encourages a diverse environment and exemplary performance
- Works with department heads, managers, compliance, and support workers, ensuring legislative and standards compliance
- Implements behaviour support plans (BSPs) to provide early intervention and reduce restrictive practices
- Reports to the NDIS Commission on incidents, restrictive practices, and practice variations
- Acts as a key contact for NDIS service delivery
- Ensures successful audits and assessments
- Provides regular performance and satisfaction reports to ELT & CEO
About you
To succeed, you should have:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, behavioural sciences, disability, or health sciences
- Legal right to work in Australia
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWC)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Completion of NDIS E-Learning Modules
- Evidence of Flu/COVID vaccination (as required)
- Child Safe Environments training
- Training in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse, or Neglect (RRHAN)
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Driver's License
Experience:
- Knowledge of the NDIS Act 2013, practice standards, and safeguarding obligations
- Understanding of Child Safe Legislation
- Experience in behaviour support planning, restrictive practices, and incident reporting
- Experience working with complex autism and developmental delays
- Proven ability to build quality client relationships with cultural sensitivity
- Project management skills
- Successful management of diverse teams
