About the Role
As a Pre-Sales Engineer , you'll be the critical link between our technology and our customers—translating technical capabilities into real-world benefits. You will work closely with the sales, product, and engineering teams to understand customer needs, present tailored solutions, and ensure a smooth technical journey from first conversation to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sales team with technical expertise during customer engagements and bid processes
- Deliver compelling product presentations, demos, and proof-of-concept activities
- Understand customer challenges and translate them into technical solutions using Camlin products
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to provide feedback on customer requirements and market needs
- Assist in preparing detailed technical proposals, documentation, and system configurations
- Contribute to responses for tenders, RFIs, and RFPs
- Represent Camlin at trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events as a technical expert
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Solid understanding of power systems, grid automation, or industrial monitoring solutions (knowledge of the rail sector is a plus)
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a customer-focused way
- Experience working in a technical sales, solutions engineering, or applications engineering role
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and customer engagements simultaneously
- Willingness to travel for customer meetings, site visits, and events
- Experience in the utilities or energy sector (especially with DNOs or rail infrastructure providers)
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, IoT platforms, or grid-edge technologies
- Knowledge of regulatory and technical standards in the UK power sector
- Background in software or hardware systems integration
