The role
We are currently looking for a Human Resources Trainee Officer to work alongside the Manager, Aboriginal Workforce Development to support the growth and retention of our workforce. The HR Trainee will work across various teams such as Workplace Relations, Recruitment and Onboarding, Organisational Development and Aboriginal Health. The HR trainee will provide assistance and support to the broader workforce on all Aboriginal workforce matters. Initial training with Justice Health will be undertaken via a formal traineeship resulting in a direct pathway to a career with Justice Health on successful completion.
- On the job studying - Certificate III in Business (HR electives) or Certificate IV in Human Resources.
- Liaising with the People and Culture team to provide support to Aboriginal workforce matters.
- Assisting with routine administration tasks.
- Respond to email and telephone enquiries from colleagues and candidates inquiring for positions with Justice Health NSW.
- Comply with NSW Health and Justice Health policies and procedures.
- Help to plan, implement, deliver, and evaluate Aboriginal Health Workforce initiatives within Justice Health NSW and joint Aboriginal Health Initiatives shared in partnership with Corrective Services NSW and community stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality and including managing highly sensitive information.
- Participate in, and provide support to any Justice Health event, meeting or activity where Aboriginal Workforce are required.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including processing HR-related documentation, managing HR inbox and correspondence, preparing reports, and assisting with the implementation of HR policies and procedures. Ensure timely and accurate processing of tasks.
