Overview

Join to apply for the Senior Cloud Engineer role at Kinetic IT. Kinetic IT is seeking a skilled and versatile Senior Cloud Engineer to join our high-performing on-site team supporting a Federal Government customer. You will play a key role in managing and integrating hybrid infrastructure environments – spanning on-premises systems, AVS (Azure VMware Solution), and Azure native services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major transformation journey, supporting cloud adoption and modern workplace environments (including Exchange Online and Microsoft 365). This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact within a federal government environment, while developing your cloud and modern workplace skills alongside a team of experienced professionals at Kinetic IT.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide expert Level 3 support across Windows Server and cloud platforms.
  • Administer and maintain hybrid infrastructure: on-prem, AVS, and Azure-native.
  • Integrate services with third-party providers including WAN and secure internet gateways (e.g. Verizon).
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across SIAM-aligned processes (incident, change, and problem management).
  • Partner with the service desk and desktop teams to support a modern M365 environment.
  • Support infrastructure transformation aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and hub-and-spoke topologies.
  • Contribute to application services management and virtual server optimisation.

What you'll bring to the table:

You're an experienced Systems Engineer who thrives in complex, hybrid environments. You're confident with cloud technologies and system integration, and you understand the expectations of working with government clients in secure, high-stakes environments.

  • Extensive experience with Windows Server 2016–2022
  • Strong hands-on expertise in the Azure Cloud Platform
  • Proficiency with VMware environments
  • Knowledge of Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
  • Azure networking and hub-and-spoke topology
  • Virtual server management and application services
  • Familiarity with the Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Power Automate
  • Certifications: MS900, MS102, AZ900, AZ104
  • NV1 Security Clearance - as you will be supporting a Federal Government customer
