Your role

Join our Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) team based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. Collaborate with lawyers across our national offices, working with Partners and the wider team to maintain a strong presence in the Australian market. You'll gain exposure to significant transactions and advise clients across sectors such as technology, healthcare, media, and banking.

Our structure offers exposure to various Partners and diverse work. We encourage specialization in areas of interest while building a solid foundation across the field.

As an Associate, your responsibilities include:

  • Telecommunications and data centres – projects, regulatory, M&A transactions.
  • Data & AI – governance, regulatory advice, compliance, investments.
  • Cyber – incident response, law enforcement engagement, regulatory advice.
  • Outsourcing – technology and business process outsourcing.
  • Corporate – business separations, systems integrations, carve outs.
  • Digital transformation projects.
  • Startups and Innovation – advisory, transactions, capital raises.
  • Media – regulatory matters, broadcasting rights.

This is a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working (60% in-office). We value flexibility and are open to discussing arrangements that suit your needs.

About you

You will have:

  • Experience in a TMT team within a top-tier law firm, focusing on TMT work.
  • Knowledge of Australian privacy, data protection, and cyber laws.
  • Experience in drafting and negotiating IT/telecommunications contracts, preferably in a common law jurisdiction.
  • Ability to handle both small and large matters effectively.
  • A desire to learn, grow, network, and mentor others.
