About The Role

Based in our Broadmeadow office and reporting into the CEO Business Hunter, the Business Manager Firsts and Partnerships is the key relationship manager for the Hunter First membership, corporate partners and sponsors. This role leads the development and implementation of strategy in each of these areas and works with the CEO and team to connect Hunter First members and partners with Business Hunter's advocacy and events program.

Through member and partner engagement, the role provides advice and actions initiatives that align policy activities with the needs and interests of member businesses and other stakeholders and supports internal and external communication objectives and actions. The focus is engagement with businesses, not-for-profits, academia and government as well as collaboration with peers in the Sydney, Western Sydney and Illawarra business units to maximise value, opportunities and synergies.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will

Hold formal qualifications in business, economics or related discipline and/or extensive experience in sales, marketing or customer relationship management. Have demonstrated sales outcomes, business development and relationship management skills Be results driven and oriented with proven track record Have an understanding of the business, industry and government environment in the Hunter region. Possess strong interpersonal, relationship building, negotiation, influencing skills and high-level verbal and written communication skills. Have experience in preparing reports for board and committee meetings. Be able to demonstrate experience in relationship management and an ability to access and leverage networks for referrals. Have an understanding of and commitment to helping local businesses develop and prosper. Be able to work out of hours and flexibly to ensure attendance at events and meetings. Demonstrate a service-oriented approach, motivated, positive attitude, good initiative and a self- starter as well as ability to work successfully work within a small team. Have experience operating Microsoft Office and online web editing programs. Exercise initiative and independent judgment. Hold a current driver's license
