This is a fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP up until July 2029.

Role and Responsibilities
  • The Senior Project Officer develops, implements and reviews strategic policy and procedures for maintenance and minor works in schools and the financial management of associated budgets.
  • Identify and assess building maintenance and related needs according to central office policy, criteria and equity issues to ensure satisfactory levels and standards are maintained.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant government policies and standards to liaise and negotiate effectively with the Department of Finance – Building Management and Works and other key government and non-agencies, councils and contractors.
  • Undertake risk assessments as well as carry out research and analysis to develop strategies and innovative solutions to resolve maintenance issues and concerns.

Eligibility
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment
  • Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • Hold and maintain a current C or C.A. class driver's licence
  • Willingness to undertake travel throughout the state, including overnight stays in non-metropolitan locations
