About The Opportunity

The Seniors and Disability Services team provides quality, direct services to promote social inclusion, enhance quality of life and increase capacity for seniors and people with disability to participate in the community while maintaining wellbeing and independence. The team supports Cumberland's Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-2026 and the creation of more livable, inclusive communities.

We have an exciting opportunity within our Seniors and Disability Services team for casual NDIS Support Workers to provide a range of direct services. This role involves delivering meaningful direct support to adult customers with disability in accordance with their care plans and NDIS goals, transporting customers safely to outings, maintaining attendance records, and ensuring engagement in programs.

Salary information and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award. Cumberland Salary Structure details include an hourly rate of $34.68 to $42.48 per hour, plus 12% superannuation, 25% casual loading, and additional weekend and after-hours penalties. The Successful Applicant Will Require

• Class C drivers licence
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Demonstrated ability to relate and engage with people with disability and their carers
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound written skills with the ability to write clear and concise care support notes and mandatory forms
• Ability to work as part of a team, be flexible and have good time management
• Experience working with volunteers

About This Role

• Casual positions available with shifts including weeknights and weekends, as required based on programs and service delivery
• Arrangements for availabilities across a spread of hours, including:
  • Tuesday – Friday: 4:00pm – 9:30pm
  • Friday: 9:30am – 3:00pm
  • Saturday: 5:30pm – 11:30pm
  • Sunday: 9:30am – 4:00pm
• This role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands office, with frequent travel across council worksites and may be required to work at any Council work location

Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.

• Grade 6 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with an hourly rate of $34.68 to $42.48 per hour, plus 12% superannuation
• 25% casual loading; additional penalty rates apply on weekends and after 8:00pm

What You'll Need To Have For This Role

• The right to live and work in Australia
• Ability to provide information for pre-employment checks, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
• Participate in health monitoring as outlined in risk assessments and Council procedures
• Provide evidence of vaccination status as part of employment screening, in accordance with Council's COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure
