We are seeking a Facility Supervisor for a permanent, part-time position (48 hours fortnightly) based at our facility. This is a 'live-in' position that includes providing after-hours support.

The hours will be as follows:

  • Week 1: Thursday & Friday
  • Week 2: Thursday to Sunday

What you will be doing in this role:

  • Undertake tenancy management functions;
  • Complete and/or arrange cleaning and maintenance;
  • Work effectively and regularly liaise with tenants to ensure their health and wellbeing is maintained;
  • Provide assistance and preparation of meals;
  • Provide limited on-call assistance to tenants outside 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday to ensure the smooth running of the property, including emergencies out of hours.

You must have:

  • Knowledge of issues pertaining to people experiencing homelessness;
  • Understanding of relevant legislation including the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 and occupational health and safety requirements, or willingness to develop this knowledge;
  • Safe Food Handling certificate or willingness to undertake training;
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and knowledge of external support services for tenants;
  • Ability to contribute to team activities such as debriefings and program planning;
  • Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks;
  • High interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
  • Sound computer skills;
  • Understanding of privacy and confidentiality issues.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Provide a current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration (employment/volunteer category) including NDIS Worker Screening Check;
  • Present an unsupervised contact with children or vulnerable people (no older than 12 months) Police Check;
  • Provide an International Police Check if residing outside Australia for 12 months or more after age 16;
  • Undergo a satisfactory medical assessment by Anglicare;
  • Hold a current Australian Driver Licence (provisional or full).

On commencement, the successful applicant will undertake our structured Safeguarding Children Training program.
