Your expertise in financial markets will take centre stage in this dynamic role where you'll shape the trading experience for Australia's most sophisticated investors. As our Senior Sales Trader, you'll work directly with high-net-worth clients and institutional traders, using your market knowledge to guide their investment decisions while building your reputation as a trusted adviser in the derivatives space.

Your career progression opportunities are substantial. You'll work closely with our Head of Premium Client Management to develop future business strategies, while building a network that spans Australia's financial services industry. The role includes media opportunities where you can establish yourself as a market commentator, appearing on television, radio, and in written publications.

What you'll be working on
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow high-net-worth and professional trading volumes across Australia
  • Identify new opportunities and market segments to strengthen our sales trading proposition
  • Deliver premium client seminars, workshops, and tailored educational events
  • Build and manage relationships with top-tier clients, driving acquisition and retention
  • Execute trades while providing strategic market insights and guidance
  • Handle complex institutional queries and deliver sophisticated market commentary
  • Support the Head of Premium Client Management in delivering office targets and developing future strategies
  • Mentor and train the sales trading team, supporting long-term growth and compliant success
  • Act as a market expert, providing commentary across media and staying ahead of global economic trends
What will help you be successful?
  • 3-5 years' experience in derivative and financial sales with a proven track record of business development in B2C or B2B relationships
  • Strong network and client base - the ability to bring across existing client relationships is highly valued
  • Deep knowledge of global financial markets across multiple asset classes, with the analytical skills to communicate complex concepts clearly
  • High-pressure performance ability - you thrive in target-driven environments while maintaining excellent attention to detail
  • Professional qualifications including a tertiary degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field, plus RG 146 certification
  • Technical expertise in platform and phone dealing processes, with proven ability to execute client trades accurately and efficiently
  • Outstanding communication skills including excellent telephone manner, interpersonal abilities, and the confidence to represent CMC Markets in media appearances
  • Full working rights to work in Australia permanently
