About the Role

• Carry out inspection works relating to all tree activities delivered by the Tree Management Unit

• Ensure timely responses to Council's Asset Management, Customer Service Requests and Systems (Pathway)

• Implement Council's Electrical Line Clearance Management Plan for trees in the City of Darebin, by carrying out regular audits (both quality and safety) of contracted works to ensure satisfactory completion of KPIs and compliance with the current regulations

• Produce risk management reports for Council trees that may impact infrastructure or be a safety risk to the public

• Implement Council's Tree Retention Policy

• Assist with Council's Street Tree Planting Program

• Provide arboriculture advice to key internal stakeholders

• Liaise with and ensure utility and distribution companies, e.g. Vic Roads, Yarra Valley Water, CitiPower and Jemena are accountable to the longevity of Council's tree assets.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in urban tree management and arboriculture with a Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Horticulture/ Arboriculture or equivalent work experience.

• Highly developed contract management and project management skills and excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Proven ability to manage and implement a continuous improvement program

• Well-developed knowledge and experience in tree assessment and arboriculture

• This position requires a current Victorian Driver's Licence, Police Check and an employee Working with Children Card.
