Occuhealth is a well-established and multi-disciplined company that provides a variety of professional and quality services including Occupational Hygiene, Asbestos/Hazmat, Health Surveillance Services, Respirator and Ear Plug Fit Testing and Forensic Testing to clients throughout Western Australia.

We are seeking a highly motivated, multi-tasking and passionate Occupational Hygiene Operations Manager to form part of our Leadership Team. The role would ideally be based at our Mandurah office however, with an office in Belmont, a hybrid working arrangement is available.

The Hygiene Operations Manager will:

• Lead a team of hygiene technicians and hygienists
• Work closely with the Hygiene and Hazmat Managers to meet targets and outcomes
• Coordinate and manage the various client contracts and engagements
• Manage technical contracts and clients with quarterly monitoring and one-off project requests, from enquiry and scoping, to quoting, resourcing through to the final reporting and invoice reviewing
• Foster a collaborative and high performing work environment
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Maximise and identify business opportunities, and prepare request for quotes and tenders
• Identify and implement process and technological improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, maximising the use of resources.

The role is responsible for managing the team members and providing strong leadership, support and mentoring with the aid of an Executive Assistant. As a member of the Management Team you will be driving excellence, innovation and business growth.

Projects are varied, and can require expert advice on health management plans, risk assessments, noise, dust, radiation and ventilation surveys along with ensuring compliance with legislation.

• Excellent leadership and team management experience
• 8+ years' experience in occupational hygiene with a broad working knowledge of legislation and WA requirements
• A degree in a relevant discipline (preferably with post graduate qualifications in Occupational Hygiene)
• A degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health, or Environmental Science
• Postgraduate qualifications in Occupational Hygiene are preferred
• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
• Be experienced at exceeding client expectations
• Ability to multitask, manage and prioritise a variety of concurrent projects to meet deadlines
• Solid business acumen and can identify growth and business opportunities
• Strong problem-solving skills with effective decision-making
• Experience contributing to strategic and operational objectives and meeting financial targets
• Lead the team firmly with kindness and empathy, whilst being fair and equitable.
