ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft Fabric to join a pioneering project, working onsite with Microsoft. This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about building modern data solutions and working with cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a key member of the team, you'll design, build, and optimize data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and business insights - with a focus on scalability, performance, and cloud-native architecture. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • Build and transform data using Databricks, PySpark, and Python for large-scale analytics
  • Implement and maintain robust ETL/ELT processes to support downstream reporting and analysis
  • Integrate data sources and prepare datasets for use in Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Collaborate with Microsoft engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and well-governed data solutions
  • Optimise data processing performance, reliability, and storage strategies in a cloud environment
  • Follow best practices in data architecture, governance, and operational monitoring
MORE ABOUT YOU
  • Must-have: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Proficiency in Python/PySpark for data transformation and scripting
  • Experience building solutions with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks
  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT methodologies and modern data architectures
  • Familiarity with Power BI for data consumption and visualisation
  • Strong engineering mindset, with attention to detail, performance, and scalability
  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and business teams
  • Previous experience in retail or consumer-facing sectors
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Knowledge of modern data lake and warehousing architecture
