Position details

Permanent full-time teaching opportunity at Chifley College Mount Druitt Campus. The college focuses on literacy, numeracy, differentiation, and explicit teaching, with strong partnerships across the community and education sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs; collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and support assessment for learning.
  • Assist with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability, ensuring accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Implement, model, monitor, and review individualized education programs (IEPs) to enrich learning for students with additional needs; use data to tailor and adjust programs.
  • Work within a caring, multi-disciplinary team to meet students' learning and wellbeing needs; build relationships with students, families, staff, and external agencies; leverage data to support decision-making and program effectiveness.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching such students in regular classes.
  • Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.
  • Proven ability to differentiate curriculum and support assessment for learning; competent in NCCD data collection and reporting.
  • Demonstrated capacity in implementing, modelling, monitoring, and reviewing IEPs; using data to tailor programs to evolving student needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a caring, multi-disciplinary team and to leverage data for decision-making and program effectiveness.

Recruitment and relocation

Recruitment Bonus: up to $20,000 (pro rata for permanent part-time or job share). The relocation payment is $5,000 to $8,000 for eligible applicants.
