The Community Health Access Project (CHAP) is a nonprofit working to eliminate health and social disparities across north-central Ohio. We serve six counties (Richland, Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, and Morrow) through a nationally certified Pathways Community HUB model. Our team connects individuals to the care they need, tracks their progress, and measures the results. It's data-driven care coordination, grounded in real relationships.
We've been part of the Mansfield community since 1999 and work with 13 partner agencies to support community health workers (CHWs) across the region.
Who We're Looking For
We're hiring a Billing Specialist who's detail-oriented, organized, and motivated by work that supports real impact in the community. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mansfield, OH.

What You'll Do
You'll manage the billing and data processes that support CHW services, ensure accuracy in records, and keep lines of communication open with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and manage monthly data in our Care Coordination System (CCS)
- Approve and reconcile billing for Care Coordination Agencies (CCAs)
- Prepare and track invoices for Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)
- Communicate with CHWs, supervisors, and MCOs to resolve billing issues
- Maintain organized payment records and monitor outstanding balances
- Assist with financial and program reporting to leadership
- Keep sensitive participant and contract information confidential
What You Bring
- Associate degree in Accounting (or equivalent education and experience)
- At least 2 years of relevant office, finance, or medical billing experience (nonprofit experience is a plus)
- Strong math skills and sharp attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working with diverse teams and community partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Strong communication and time management skills
