About The Role

We are seeking an IT Events Administrator to provide the technical foundation behind Australia's most spectacular live events. This hybrid role combines office-based system administration with field deployments across NSW's premier entertainment venues, stadiums and event spaces.

The successful candidate will bring hands-on technical expertise with at least one year of experience in L1/L2 support environments, ideally with field service or multi-site support. You will thrive in fast-paced event environments where technical excellence and professional client interaction are important.

Working closely with clients and internal teams, you will ensure seamless IT operations that connect thousands of fans to unforgettable live experiences. You will master Windows servers, access control technologies, and data services while our training and Client Services partnership support your success at every event.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Operations:
    • Scope and create bespoke IT solutions for events across Australia
    • Deliver on-site IT support across Ticketek's diverse event portfolio
    • Work with Windows versions (Windows 10/11, Windows IoT, Windows Server 2019/2022/2025)
    • Install points of sale (PCs, BOCA printers, EFTPOS) at venues and temporary events
    • Administer and maintain ticketing IT infrastructure and access control infrastructure at client venues
    • Coordinate preventative maintenance and respond to urgent technical needs
    • Use JIRA to track, document and resolve issues with detailed reporting
    • Install, support and maintain IT collateral such as servers, switches, and wireless access points
    • Configure VPN connections and network services for temporary deployments
  • Client & Venue Management:
    • Collaborate professionally with clients
    • Provide technical guidance and support during high-pressure event situations
    • Maintain accurate configuration documentation and system records
    • Respond promptly to service desk requests with fault resolution tracking

The role involves hands-on IT support, field deployments, and collaborating with event teams to ensure reliable technology at venues.

About you
Who We're Looking For

Essential Experience: At least one year of hands-on IT support experience (L1/L2), with multi-site or field service exposure preferred. Experience supporting end users across multiple locations and managing IT infrastructure in dynamic environments.

Technical Expertise: Windows 10/11 administration, POS system management, and VPN technologies. Comfortable with Active Directory user management, Microsoft 365, and Jira. Cisco networking fundamentals and practical server administration experience.

Professional Attributes: Strong client-facing communication, ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, organized with the ability to prioritise under tight deadlines. Physically capable of equipment handling and extended periods at event venues.

Practical Requirements: Current full NSW driver's license with regular travel across the state. Experience with NSW entertainment venues, stadiums or event facilities is valuable; familiarity with temporary event deployments is beneficial.

  • Field service or traveling IT support background
  • Familiarity with NSW entertainment and sporting venues
  • Experience with temporary network deployments and mobile IT solutions
  • Understanding of the fast-paced, deadline-driven nature of live events
  • Cisco certification (CCNA or equivalent) or similar networking qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL databases
  • Experience with patron access control systems or large-scale event technology
  • Current full Australian driver's license
Other Key Considerations
  • Role requires outside of business hours work and weekends
  • Lifting or carrying more than 5 kg occasionally
  • Extended periods on your feet at events
  • Some travel for installations, support and site visits (local and regional)
