Who we are looking forAn excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Civil Dams Engineer to join our market-leading Northern Australia Dams Group. Our team delivers some of the most complex and high-profile dams and hydropower projects across Australia and internationally — offering you the opportunity to lead, innovate, and make a lasting impact. This role can be based in any of our Northern Australia office locations. This exciting role will allow you to develop your career while working with a highly capable and dynamic team. ResponsibilitiesWorking with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- A broad range of dams projects including both water dams and tailings dams for a variety of uses including municipal, mining, agriculture and hydropower, particularly throughout Northern Australia.
- Providing technical delivery, with a focus on geotechnical, structural and/or design management skills, which may be applied to dams and/or tailings projects in particular.
- Actively participate in client relationship management, business development, development of proposals, reports and technical analysis. Opportunities to develop client relationships and business development skills under mentorship from team leaders, market leaders, senior engineers etc.
- Ideally have more than 3 years' post-graduation experience in dams engineering.
- Having chartered RPEQ engineer status preferred or working towards this status.
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil) or higher qualifications.
- Knowledge of design of a broad range of dam types, including embankment and concrete dams.
- Knowledge of the Queensland dam safety legislation an advantage.
- Knowledge of a broad range of elements which may include spillway design, dam design, design of outlets and intake towers, hydropower facilities, dam safety and risk assessments and construction phase experience.
- Experience working in multi-disciplined teams, including geologists, structural engineers, hydraulic engineers, hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical engineers.
