About the Role

Southern Cross Transit is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and self-motivated trainee to join our team as an Operations Team Member Trainee at our Karalee depot. This full-time, ongoing role provides a unique opportunity to build a career in the transport industry while gaining hands-on experience in operations and administration.

As an Operations Team Member Trainee, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a key role in supporting both our driving team and fleet maintenance operations.

An interest in transport and logistics is a must for this role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the Operations Manager with daily coordination of drivers and fleet services

Provide administrative support across departments to ensure smooth communication

Help manage driver and vehicle schedules to maintain operational efficiency

Support the team in meeting safety, compliance, and service standards

Contribute to resolving day-to-day issues and ensuring tasks are completed on time

About You

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively

Qualifications and Skills

Basic to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

A strong willingness to learn and develop operational knowledge

Prior experience in transport or logistics is not essential but will be highly regarded
