The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Plant Technician in our Energy Services Operations team based in Port Kembla. As part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions, and services to our export and domestic customers.
As a member of a cross-functional team, you'll be responsible for various tasks including boiler and turbine attendant duties such as rounds, monitoring, routine inspections, performance tests, troubleshooting, cleaning, plant setup, isolation, startups, and overhaul work. You'll ensure effective communication within the team and respond to emergencies and alarms. Your role is crucial in meeting customer requirements with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental responsibility.
This position supports a 7-day, 12-hour day shift schedule.
What Will You Do?
Sharing your knowledge and providing technical guidance to the Energy Services Operations and Asset Development teams, you will:
- Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment
- Ensure equipment availability to enable department controllers to deliver energy and process streams efficiently
- Review and report on equipment performance and condition
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on plant and equipment issues
- Support the team with ancillary tasks and additional support as directed by Operations Coordinators
