A day in the life of a Community and Recreation Disability Support Worker at Yooralla involves supporting adults with disabilities to engage in community activities. Your tasks may include:
supporting clients to work towards their goals, engaging in recreation and social activities, assisting with shopping, appointments, and events, fostering meaningful relationships, and helping with daily living and personal care such as meal prep, hygiene, and mobility.
About You
We seek passionate individuals with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. You should share Yooralla's values and possess:
a positive approach, initiative, and self-motivationa commitment to empowering clients and maintaining quality and safeguardseffective communication skills and good English literacyability to work collaboratively within a diverse teamwillingness to support clients with personal care activitiesAustralian Driver Licenceright to work in Australiaability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification if not already certifiedQualifications such as a Certificate IV in Disability, relevant experience, or interest in community services are advantageous. If you lack these, don't worry—Yooralla offers excellent training and support, including opportunities to work and study. Transferable skills are also valuable.
You will be subject to an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
