
Geotechnical Discipline Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Discipline Leader to join our Buildings, Civil-Structures and Ground Engineering team in Adelaide. In this senior leadership role, you'll deliver high-quality geotechnical design services across infrastructure projects in South Australia and provide regional technical support. You will also play a key role in growing Arup's local presence, guiding junior engineers, and driving innovation in sustainable, multidisciplinary design.
Responsibilities- Deliver end-to-end geotechnical design services across a range of infrastructure sectors, from concept to construction.
- Lead geotechnical inputs for multidisciplinary projects and manage your own portfolio of smaller-scale projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align on project needs, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers, contributing to team capability and excellence.
- Support business development efforts by engaging with clients, contributing to bids, and identifying growth opportunities for Arup in South Australia.
- A degree in civil or geotechnical engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical expertise in geotechnical investigation, design and construction, ideally with knowledge of South Australian ground conditions.
- Proven project leadership skills, including budget management, team coordination and client engagement.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
- A passion for innovation, quality, and sustainable engineering practices.
