Childcare Chef / Cook - Kenmore

Randstad is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef / Cook to join a thriving early learning center in Kenmore. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a supportive and nurturing environment where children flourish and families feel a true sense of belonging.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in implementing engaging meal plans that cater to the diverse needs of children from 6 months to 6 years old.

Your Tasks
  • Preparing and cooking a range of fresh, healthy, and culturally diverse meals and snacks daily, including breakfast, morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.
  • Managing and catering to children's individual dietary requirements, allergies, and intolerances (e.g., gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, anaphylaxis plans).
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage areas, complying with all relevant health regulations.
  • Managing kitchen inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records to ensure efficient stock rotation and minimize waste.
  • Ensuring all kitchen equipment is clean, well-maintained, and in good working order.
  • Collaborating with center staff to understand children's preferences and needs.
  • Managing the kitchen budget effectively, sourcing quality ingredients at competitive prices.
  • Maintaining accurate records of food production, temperatures, and cleaning schedules.

  • A genuine passion for working with children and providing healthy food
  • Good communication skills and teamwork abilities
  • Strong understanding of child nutrition, food allergies, and safe food handling practices
Your Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a kitchen environment; experience in childcare, school, or aged care is highly regarded but not essential
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full working rights in Australia (no sponsorship available)
