General Manager, Health Safety & Environment

Are you ready to lead the health, safety, wellbeing, and environment functions across our national organization? We are seeking an experienced National Manager to oversee and drive initiatives in these areas aligned with our strategic goals.

Reporting to the CEO, you will develop and implement frameworks, policies, and programs to minimize risks, foster a safety culture, and improve environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice and support on health and safety to leadership and staff.
  • Maintaining compliance with legislation, standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the Safety and Compliance team.
  • Managing safety audits, incident investigations, and hazard mitigation.
  • Overseeing environmental strategies and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensuring the effective operation of the Safety Management System (SMS).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years in HSE roles, with at least 5 in senior leadership.
  • WHS formal qualifications.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams across Australia.
  • Deep knowledge of occupational health and safety management and legislation.
  • Excellent research, investigation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Membership of AIHS and certification as an OHS practitioner are highly regarded.
  • Experience with environmental metrics and sustainability reporting (e.g., GHG Protocol, GRI, CDP, SDGs).
