The Gig

We are currently looking for our next Breakfast Chef to join us at Ovolo Hotels. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will assist with expanding our food offerings, menu, and workflow design. Our focus is on creating memorable, personality-filled food experiences that stand out from typical corporate restaurants. This is a full-time role requiring flexibility. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Making the best eggs in town
  • Providing professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting team members
  • Setting up and cleaning the kitchen after breakfast
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
  • Managing stock under optimal conditions
  • Preparing mis-en-place freshly and on time
  • Preparing dishes according to recipes and quantities
  • Operating within relevant legislation and maintaining records
  • Meeting personal grooming and hygiene standards
  • Contributing ideas for menus and new dishes
  • Sharing ideas and suggestions during shift briefings
  • Rotating stock to minimize wastage
  • Ensuring accurate storeroom requisitions
