Overview

Vestas Wind are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join their high achieving team in Western Australia. This role involves managing the running and client management of three wind farms in the region.

The opportunity focuses on showcasing people, site and client management skills to achieve output and service gains across the designated wind farms. The role will manage and support on-site service capabilities, create a customer-focused culture and maximise profitability in line with Vestas business objectives. Responsibilities include ensuring Vestas HSE policies are effectively implemented and managed at each Wind Farm site of responsibility, leading and managing direct reports and site employees, developing wind farm budgets, and deputising as Regional Service Manager (RSM) in the absence of the RSM.

Effective management, planning and execution of Service, Warranty & Continuous Improvement (CIM) works, managing and reporting to relevant customer contacts, developing the business by ensuring system efficiency and setting progressive service strategies in collaboration with the RSM, and undertaking ongoing professional development.

The role also involves managing Wind Farm subcontractor relationships.

Responsibilities

Activity 1: Safety

  • Facilitate a Safe and Inclusive working environment, including Conflict Management where appropriate
  • Maintain Safety KPIs within nominated targets
  • Develop a positive Safety Culture across all Sites under your span of control through available frameworks
  • Participate in and facilitate QSE meetings and ensure outcomes are rolled out to Sites under your span of control
  • Ensure Service and Maintenance activities undertaken by Technicians are completed in accordance with Vestas HSE policies and procedures
  • Designated case handler for all Tier 3 Incident Investigations and close out of Safety incidents reported from Sites within span of control
  • Ensure Incident Management System Tasks are raised, actioned and effective to prevent reoccurrence
  • Undertake Safety Walks within prescribed frequencies and review the quality of Safety Walks performed by Site Supervisors

Activity 2: Personnel

  • Leadership, management and supervision of Site Team
  • Review and approve time sheets for all Site personnel under your span of control Daily
  • Recruitment of Service staff
  • Regular Wind Farm site visits
  • Staff development, training planning and implementation
  • Continual Performance Development (CPD) management of direct reports
  • Implement People and Culture initiatives at the Wind Farm site level

Activity 3: Customers

  • Maintain regular contact with all Customers minimising potential disputes. Manage and maintain Customer Survey responses and results to nominated KPIs
  • Accurate and timely reporting to agreed customer requirements per the relevant Service contract
  • Attend Customer meetings at agreed formal meeting frequency
  • Accurate and timely production of quotes to the customer per the terms and the conditions of the relevant Service contract and in collaboration with the Service Sales team where applicable
  • Identify and understand customer needs, actively meet customer needs and maintain positive professional relationship and actively engage upon Service Sales opportunities
  • Contract deviations reported in a timely and transparent manner

Activity 4: Financial and Administration

  • Develop Wind Farm budgets in collaboration with immediate manager and subordinates and monitor Actuals vs budget
  • Forecast cost expenditure on nominated Wind Farm sites and report to key stakeholders
  • Assist the RSM to manage Service Contract Billing Plans including annual CPI adjustments, for the Wind Farms under your management, identifying potential risk
  • Accurate and on time reporting across HSE, Financial and Staff, identifying immediate risk
  • Act as RSM delegate in his/her absence to report and present at monthly ANZ Service
  • Operational Business review Meeting

Activity 5: Operational

  • Identify potential Wind Farm operational risks and proactively manage and mitigate risks in an effective manner
  • Develop and implement operational plan in accordance with contract and KPI's
  • Effective use and implementation of SAP and SAP BI to assist with forecasting/planning operations
  • Selection and on-going monitoring and audit of sub-contractors utilized on each Wind Farm site
  • Effective staff resourcing and appropriate competencies of Wind Farm Site staff to match volume of forecast maintenance and training schedule
  • Maximise Time & Materials and Vestas upgrade opportunities that fall outside scope of contract
  • Effective fleet management of each Wind Farm vehicle fleet

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a related field in a leadership role
  • Electrical or mechanical trade certificate (Preferred)
  • Valid driver's license
