
Senior Claims Officer Financial Lines

This role involves managing a diverse portfolio of Financial Lines Claims to deliver a "Best in Class" claims experience in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring the most cost-effective and timely outcomes, working alongside a team of highly experienced claims professionals.
As a senior team member, you will provide technical claims advice and mentor claims officers to enhance technical capabilities and deliver excellent commercial outcomes.
What you'll do
- Proactively manage a diverse portfolio of complex, sensitive, high-risk Financial Lines claims end-to-end.
- Provide specialist technical advice to claims staff on policy coverage, liability, quantum, strategy, and reserving.
- Appoint and manage external service providers, including External Legal Panel.
- Maintain claim reserves timely in accordance with reserving guidelines and practices.
- Provide feedback to underwriters and claims managers on issues or risk deficiencies identified during claims management and develop own technical industry knowledge.
- Contribute to developing the team's market profile through superior claims service to targeted market segments.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience in Financial Lines / Professional Indemnity Claims (minimum 3-4 years).
- Experience mentoring claims staff in technical claims roles.
- Desired: Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (e.g., Diploma in Financial Services General Insurance).
