Moreton Hire is a leading provider of event and exhibition solutions, recognised for our innovative approach and commitment to excellence. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a motivated Accountant/Financial Analyst to join our friendly and dynamic team.

About the Role:

Opportunity abounds in this role. Beyond the core finance activities, we are looking for a hands-on career business professional who wants to make this role their own by supporting wider commercial activities of the business including contract and leasing reviews, insurance and IT.

Do you thrive in a small team? Based at our Rochedale office, in the heart of Brisbane's south, this is an excellent opportunity for a self starter. You'll gain hands-on experience across a variety of finance/IT functions and work closely with our wider team to assist them in all business services related activities. A strong foundation in Commerce is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Perform financial analysis and assist in reporting key insights to management
• Assist with month-end processing and preparation of financial reports
• Risk analysis, contract and lease reviews
• Prepare taxation returns (GST, FBT, Payroll, Income Tax)
• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations
• Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure records are up to date
• Support accounts payable, receivable, payroll, daily cashbook management and banking tasks functions when needed
• Collaborate with various teams to support business operations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• CA or CPA preferred
• This role can be either part-time, or full time

Required Skills:

• At least 4 years' experience in a finance/accounting role preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
• Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central or similar ERP systems is a bonus, but not essential
• Proficient in Copilot, Microsoft Excel and other MS 365 programs
