What will your typical day look like?

We are seeking a Strategy Manager with in-depth experience across Higher Education.

Specifically, you will demonstrate a deep understanding of the Australian higher education landscape, including university value drivers, operating environments and models, and the evolving competitive landscape, spanning public and private providers, TAFEs, and emerging global education models. Additionally, you will bring knowledge of how universities function, including key services, research activity, partnerships, and ways of working across academic and enterprise areas. You will also have a solid grasp of how key trends and technology advances such as artificial intelligence are reshaping the sector, and an ability to translate this into strategic, actionable recommendations that address complexity and client needs.

As a Strategy Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

  1. Leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of project teams and taking ownership of project direction and outcomes.
  2. Managing client relationships in the higher education sector and proactively building strong relationships.
  3. Leveraging your deep strategy expertise and skill set to work collaboratively with clients to solve key business challenges.
  4. Leading project management, including managing project financials and proactively identifying and addressing project risks.
  5. Assisting Directors and Partners with defining project scopes and requirements.
  6. Identifying and pursuing new client opportunities and business development activities, including leading or contributing to proposal development.
  7. Coaching and mentoring junior team members, investing in their career development.
  8. Contributing to the growth of the broader practice through thought leadership and knowledge sharing, and supporting team recruitment, onboarding, learning, and culture.

About you

You likely possess a tertiary degree with an outstanding academic record, along with strategy consulting experience in a Tier 1 firm, boutique, or university strategy team. You demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with mature judgment.

You have effective communication skills and can build trust with senior stakeholders (DVC, C-suite). You have a track record of influencing outcomes and developing opportunities.

You also have proven team leadership, mentoring, and people management capabilities, with a focus on creating effective work environments that enable others to excel.
