The Opportunity

As an Environmental Operations Lead, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating, supervising and supporting field-based teams of 25+ employees, including Environmental Team Leaders, Senior Environmental Team Leaders and Field Team Members.

This is a leadership role that blends operational oversight with people management. You will be accountable for :

  • Leading large, multi-level teams both directly and indirectly.
  • Overseeing the full employee lifecycle : recruitment, onboarding, training, development planning, and performance management.
  • Ensuring safe, high-quality project delivery across multiple sites.
  • Managing resources, budgets, schedules, and compliance with Acacia's ISO certified HSEQ management systems.
  • Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and ensuring customer service and delivery outcomes are met.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive team culture where people feel valued, safe and motivated.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring :

Demonstrated experience leading large field-based teams (25+ people) in environmental, conservation, natural resource management or related industries.Strong employee and HR capability, including performance management, people development, and recruitment.Sound self awareness, with a proven ability to coach and mentor to support team performance and development of skills and capabilities.Technical expertise in land management, weed control, and revegetation.High-level organisational and problem-solving skills to manage complex projects and competing priorities.Ability to build trusted client relationships and represent Acacia with professionalism.Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Conservation and Land Management, Agriculture or similar (or equivalent industry experience).Ability, desire and fitness to work alongside field teams on client site-based projects both locally and statewide.Construction White Card, First Aid Level 2, and current Driver's Licence.ACUP / ChemCert highly regarded.
