The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Supervisor to support our NT Operations and Technical Superintendent. This is an excellent opportunity to join a vessel technical team as a professional and contribute to providing solution-based services to our valued clients. Please note, this position is not offered on a FIFO basis and is intended for candidates currently residing in Darwin.

Reporting to the Technical Superintendent, this role is accountable for supervising contractors, maintenance, and workshop staff allocated to Bhagwan Marine's fleet of vessels in compliance with Class Survey rules, regulatory, and statutory regulations through planned maintenance programs and vessel survey requirements.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership and direction to Vessel Engineers regarding vessel operations, maintenance, refits, and management.
  • Supervising and coordinating vessel repairs and maintenance, including shore-side labour appointments.
  • Supervising workshop staff and contractors in daily maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting the Superintendent in supervising vessel dry docking processes.
  • Generating engineering-related purchase requisitions and purchase orders, vetting and approving for best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
  • Planning maintenance and contractor activities.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with service providers.
  • Being a hands-on role model to workshop staff and vessel crews.

To be successfully considered for this role you must have:

  • Knowledge of NSCV/USL/RAV & Class legislation requirements.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within the Marine Industry.
  • Marine Engineering or Trade Qualification with some marine experience.
