Are you passionate about making a real impact? TLEA is currently inviting applications for a two-year maximum term position as a Process Control Systems Engineer, based at our Kwinana plant on a Monday to Friday roster.

Role details

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of modifications to the Process Control System (PCS) at the Tianqi Lithium Kwinana (TLK) Lithium Hydroxide Refinery. This role is critical in supporting the delivery of a portfolio of brownfield projects aimed at enhancing and debottlenecking refinery operations.

Responsibilities
  • Working with stakeholders to develop the functional specifications
  • Programming and commissioning of the control system according to the functional specifications
  • Design engineering solutions for the control system
  • Follow Management of Change processes
  • Identify and assess risks using enterprise risk framework policies and procedures, develop and implement risk mitigation plans
  • Testing, maintaining and modifying existing process control systems
  • Optimising strategies to prevent operational and production delays and minimise lifecycle costs for instrumentation and control infrastructure
  • Assist in fault finding and failure investigations, and the subsequent rectification work
Essential Requirements
  • Tertiary Engineering degree with professional experience in process control systems
  • Previous experience in chemical or mineral processing industry
  • Good understanding of distributed control system and control system architecture
  • Extensive experience with Rockwell PLC & SCADA programming (Siemens highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated ability to understand control philosophy and configure control system as per the functional requirements
  • Configuration and commissioning of DOL and Variable Speed Drives
  • Excellent problem solving and fault-finding skills

Location

TLEA acknowledges the Whadjuk and Gnaala Karla Boodja people of the Noongar Nation as the traditional custodians of the Kwinana area, where we operate our plant. Kwinana is 38 km from the Perth CBD, 20 km from Fremantle and 7 km from Rockingham.
