Defence Digital Group (DDG) is responsible for shaping, delivering, and sustaining an integrated and scalable ICT environment, the Single Information Environment (SIE), to enable Defence to fight and win in the digital age. The DDG Engineering Branch provides and applies technological principles to create, manage, and maintain digital systems and infrastructure within a scaled agile framework (SAFe). Our aim is to reduce system complexity, eliminate legacy systems, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance agility. DDG seeks experienced APS 6 ICT Engineers to analyze complex ICT engineering issues, applying expertise to identify and implement solutions within an agile methodology.
You will collaborate with project managers, senior team members, and SMEs to:
- Deliver high-level and detailed Systems Engineering Designs.
- Research, present, and participate in solution development activities.
- Apply Defence ICT standards and architecture roadmaps for application design, integration, platforms, and Cyber principles to support consistent enterprise ICT solutions delivery.
- Prepare technical briefs, design decisions, system engineering documents, presentations, and reports following Defence standards.
- Learn from senior engineers to develop your APS IT career. The Department will create merit pools to fill vacancies over the next 18 months.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known as the Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP), which provides a premium in addition to the base salary for positions critical to Defence capability. For more information, please contact the designated contact officer.

These roles will provide technical expertise, mentorship, and coaching within a matrixed environment, with teams and individuals embedded into projects as needed.
