Lead procurement with purpose-nationally and globally.

We're a leading national contract manufacturer in the Australian steel industry, supplying high-quality solutions to infrastructure and industrial sectors. As we continue to grow and streamline operations, we're looking for a National Procurement Manager to take ownership of our sourcing strategy and supplier relationships across multiple sites.

This is a high-impact, executive-level role reporting directly to the CEO, offering the opportunity to shape procurement strategy, lead a small team, and drive performance across domestic and international supply chains.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and execute a national procurement strategy aligned with operational and commercial goals.
  • Source steel and related materials from domestic and international suppliers, including direct negotiations with overseas mills.
  • Oversee import logistics, customs clearance, and national distribution to multiple facilities.
  • Build and maintain supplier networks that deliver quality, compliance, and value.
  • Collaborate with site operation managers to forecast demand and optimise inventory.
  • Lead and mentor procurement and logistics personnel.
  • Implement systems and analytics to improve procurement efficiency, compliance, and reporting.

What You'll Bring

Senior procurement or supply chain experience in a national manufacturing or industrial setting-steel industry experience highly regarded.Strong knowledge of steel grades, specifications, and global sourcing markets.Proven experience with international procurement, including Incoterms, freight, and customs.Commercial negotiation skills and a network of supplier contacts.Ability to manage procurement across multiple sites and coordinate national logistics.Strategic mindset with operational awareness and leadership capability.Familiarity with ERP / procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Pronto, Oracle).Tertiary qualifications in supply chain, commerce, engineering, or similar (preferred).
