Murran is one of our proudest initiatives - a First Nations-led business, retail, and arts hub located in the heart of Geelong. It's a place for mob to gather, grow and thrive.

Consisting of a retail shop - stocking 80+ First Nations brands - a cafe, a gallery, co-working desks, and meeting/conference rooms, Murran is a place where creativity, connection and business come together.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a dynamic and community-minded Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leader to take on the role of Manager at the Murran Hub.

This is an identified position and is only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants, as permitted by the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic) Section 12.

This role will see you:

  • Lead the vision and day-to-day operations of Murran
  • Manage a small, passionate team
  • Activate and maintain a culturally safe, welcoming space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Build relationships with customers, creatives, businesses and partners
  • Manage budgets, systems and resources effectively
  • Champion the values of self-determination, cultural integrity and community voice

You'll work closely with the CEO and broader Ngarrimili team to ensure Murran continues to be a beacon of creativity, connection and economic empowerment.

ABOUT YOU

You're someone who:

  • Is Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Has experience in managing community or creative spaces, or place-based programs
  • Is a values-driven leader with strong organisational and project management skills
  • Builds strong, respectful relationships with community and stakeholders
  • Thrives in culturally safe, collaborative and practical environments
  • Believes in the power of First Nations-led spaces and initiatives
