This is a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team and to drive research and quality improvement across acute occupational therapy.

About The Role

This is a Permanent Part Time position at 45.6 hrs per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy Department.

You will be providing clinical leadership across RCH occupational therapy and driving a culture of curiosity, quality improvement and research.

Classification for this position will range from Grade 4 Year 1 to Grade 4 Year 4, VG14-VG17 (base salary $126,079 to $138,928 per annum, plus superannuation and higher qualification allowance).

What You'll Achieve

• Facilitating others in the delivery of evidence based occupational therapy and translation of research into clinical practice
• Delivery of quality improvement and research initiatives
• Generating research outputs, including grant funding applications, conference presentations and publications
• Strong collaborations with occupational therapists, patients and families, other RCH staff and external stakeholders
• The role also has support from the Director of Allied Health Research and team
  
  

Your Skills And Experience

Well-developed clinical research skills, including an understanding of ethical, legal and financial considerations when undertaking defined research activities

• Clinical expertise specific to infants, children, and adolescents and / or the tertiary hospital setting
• Ability to analyse, critique and synthesise data from sources to inform the development and implementation of a research strategy for Occupational Therapy Services, and specific clinical research questions
• Highly developed leadership and interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate and negotiate with multiple stakeholders in a professional, efficient, and sustainable manner

About Occupational Therapy Department

The Occupational Therapy department is within the Division of Ambulatory Services. We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions. Our inpatient services include General Medicine, Surgical, Trauma, Neurosciences, Neonates, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Oncology, and Respiratory. Outpatient services include specialist assessment clinics (autism and developmental), specialist tertiary clinics for management of neurological/ neurodevelopmental and/or musculoskeletal conditions. Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other health care professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.

Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain

• Valid Working with Children Check
