You will be joining a high-performing team that manages end-to-end motor claims for major insurers across Australia. Our structured claims process spans lodgement, settlement, recovery, and complex claims, ensures efficient, customer-focused outcomes.

As a Claims Consultant - Insurance Claims, you'll manage a portfolio of claims from start to finish, delivering exceptional service and working closely with clients, repairers, and third parties. Your role will involve assessing liability, negotiating recoveries, and resolving complex cases, all while ensuring a smooth and empathetic experience for our customers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and professional team that values innovation and service excellence in the motor insurance space.

We offer a hybrid working model, with 2–3 days per week in our Melbourne CBD office. To set you up for success, the first four weeks of training will be delivered fully on-site.

Customer Focus

Deliver outstanding customer service throughout the motor claims lifecycle.

Communicate clearly with customers about the claims process, next steps, and expected timeframes.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, repairers, assessors, and other stakeholders.

Respond to customer and client queries promptly and professionally.

Ensure all customer interactions comply with relevant legislation and industry codes.

Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and escalate issues where necessary.

Claims Management

Manage end-to-end motor claims, including assessment, repair coordination, and settlement.

Interpret and apply motor policy terms and conditions accurately.

Appoint and liaise with assessors, investigators, and repairers as required.

Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, notes, and documentation.

Monitor and adjust reserves based on new information and claim progression.

Use diary systems and workflow tools to proactively manage claims.

Identify and investigate potential recovery and fraud opportunities.

Handle complex or technical motor claims within your authority and escalate where appropriate.

Ensure claims are resolved efficiently, minimising leakage and maximising customer satisfaction.

Participate in team meetings, daily check-ins, and contribute to a positive team culture.

2-3 years' experience in motor insurance claims, ideally in a technical or complex claims environment.

Strong understanding of motor vehicle repair processes and insurance policy interpretation.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.

A proactive, team-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

A certificate in General Insurance, Insurance Contracts Act, Insurance & Brokers Act and knowledge of the code of practise would be highly regarded.
