The Child Health and Parenting Service (CHaPS) is seeking a suitable Allied Health Professional to join our dynamic team, providing quality services for families of children under 5 based at the North West Parenting Centre in Tasmania.
The North West region encompasses Circular Head, West Coast, Devonport Surrounds, and King Island. It is a beautiful area with beaches, walking and mountain biking tracks, wineries, cafes, and restaurants.

Role Responsibilities:
- Providing therapeutic Psychological or Social Work services to families with children under 5 within a primary health care framework, adhering to CHaPS philosophy, agency policies, legal requirements, and professional codes of ethics (e.g., APS or AASW).
- Using evidence-based and best practice principles within a multidisciplinary, collaborative framework.
- Conducting assessments and delivering therapeutic interventions to clients and their families.
Appointment Details:
Permanent, part-time position, 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours may be negotiated.
- The selection process may be used to fill subsequent or fixed-term vacancies for up to twelve months from the date of publication.
Salary: $110,425 - $121,907 pro rata per annum, plus employer superannuation (12%). Salary packaging options are available, including living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment benefits.
- Access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications or application to the personal upgrade scheme.
- Salary is aligned with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022.
Additional allowances based on salary points may include:
- Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 annually.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet:
Completion of an approved allied health qualification and registration with the relevant National Board or professional association.Current Working with Children Registration.Registrations/licenses must be current and maintained throughout employment. It is the employee's responsibility to update the employer if their registration status changes.
Preferred criteria include:
Current Driver's Licence.Experience in therapeutic counselling, working with children and families, or perinatal and infant mental health.Pre-employment checks include:
