The TeamCommunity CYMHS Northwest are a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services, including assessment and treatment planning for children and young people in the Northwest region of Tasmania. The team provides a community leadership role in partnership with the Northwest Regional Hospital, education, child safety services, youth justice, NDIS, police, education and various community-based NGO organisations. Based in a rural remote region, the CYMHS team has the opportunity to work across diverse circumstances and use a creative approach to delivering mental health care to consumers, their families and communities.
You will needWork as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the Mental Health Services Strategic Plan, Mental Health Services Principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies. As a CYMHS clinician you will:
- Undertake assessments, care planning and delivery of individual and group secondary level mental health interventions to children and families, including culturally appropriate services.
- Develop and support collaborative care partnerships with service providers across primary health, child health and parenting, paediatrics, child safety, education, and youth programs and services.
- Collect and review client and service outcome data and participate in activities to improve client outcomes.
- Contribute to continuing quality and safety, service development and improvement, and professional development processes and standards.

Details of appointmentPermanent full-time, day worker position, 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies (full time, part time, or casual).
Salary and BenefitsSalary: $110,425 to $121,907 per annum. Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary packaging available with benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, and other eligible benefits.
Allowances: Access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or the Personal Upgrade Scheme. Other allowances may be available based on the salaried incremental point, including:
- Professional Development Allowance up to $1,000 per annum
Benefits available to eligible candidates include travel and relocation assistance (up to $15,000 for overseas appointees and up to $10,000 for interstate appointees), professional development and accelerated pathways, various leave entitlements including study leave, and Fitness Passport for you and your family (40+ facilities across Tasmania).
EligibilitySuccessful applicants will be required to meet essential criteria and desirable criteria as outlined:
- Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program and registration with the relevant National Board, or full membership/eligible for membership with the relevant professional association for self-regulated professions
- Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable)
- Current Driver's Licence
- Desirable: Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience relevant to the role
- Desirable: Postgraduate qualification or currently working towards one relevant to the role
