Role Description and Criteria

The successful applicant must be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and contributing to a vibrant, professional team focused on student learning and wellbeing. A passion for leading learning and a collaborative approach are essential. Knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and the ability to develop programs tailored to each student are required.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the values and ethos of the Catholic school and the mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Lead the school community in its faith journey.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to child safety and wellbeing in accordance with Child Safe standards.
  • Build professional relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community.
  • Plan collaboratively and work flexibly as part of a team.
  • Foster lifelong learning in students.
  • Show initiative and a commitment to ongoing improvement.
  • Align with MACS 2030 Vision for Instruction and Engagement.
  • Have a sound knowledge of contemporary learning, explicit instruction, and cognitive load theory.
  • Assess and report student progress against the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Use data to inform teaching practices and improve student outcomes.
  • Maintain and develop professional skills in teaching and student wellbeing.
  • Incorporate the Digital Technologies curriculum confidently.
  • Be adaptable, positive, and have a good sense of humor.
