DESCRIPTION

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team in an emerging business at Amazon. Amazon is seeking a Sort Center Operations Manager to join our Amazon Transport Services team. We are looking for an operations leader to drive innovation and excellence in our Sort Center operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing large teams, thinking strategically, and working in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. They should be a self-starter, capable of handling daily operations and complex projects, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

Oversee and improve all aspects of sortation operations at BWU5, including:

  • Leading sort center activities, staff planning, and scheduling.
  • Hiring and developing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, customer obsession, and engagement.
  • Implementing process improvements and quality initiatives.
  • Promoting health and safety best practices.
  • Participating in cross-functional projects.
  • Preparing data-driven proposals and performing data analysis.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
