Community Mental Health - Rehabilitation Services (Whyalla)

Whyalla Hospital hosts the SaltbushCommunity Mental Health Rehabilitation service, which is part of the South Australian Government's strategy to reform mental health services and to provide a stepped model of care to regional South Australians at a location closer to home. The service supports people who may have been living independently in the community but require a more supported environment to enhance their living skills, or those who may have completed their stay in hospital and are ready for community-based treatment and rehabilitation. About the Role :

The Mental Health Support Worker plays a key role in delivering recovery-oriented, evidence-based services that make a real difference in the lives of consumers across the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network. Working closely with clinicians, you'll provide practical, non-clinical psychosocial support in community, acute, and rehabilitation settings, helping consumers achieve their goals and embrace recovery. Through hands-on assistance and guidance, you'll empower individuals, support their wellbeing, and contribute to a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to improving mental health outcomes in the local community.

About You :

Experience in reporting to and liaising with multiple stakeholders across the spectrum of community services or health.Experience in working with people who have health and / or mental health related issues.Experience in working within a community services team environment and successful participation in such a setting.Experience in Microsoft Office software packages including word processing, desktop publishing, Excel and Outlook.Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
