Trainer and Assessor - Trade Specialist

Are you passionate about empowering others through hands-on learning? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trainer and Assessor - Trade Specialist for our Training team.

About the role

  • Monday to Friday at Perth WAC Head Office.
  • Coordinate and execute training and assessment in accordance with Macmahon training standards and site-specific training plan.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain proficiency in equipment operation to a high standard.
  • Identify outdated, inaccurate, or unsuitable content in site training materials and report to the Training Supervisor.
  • Participate actively in ongoing professional development activities.
  • Generate regular (weekly) training forecasts in consultation with supervision levels, training compliance reports, and other ad hoc reports and evaluations as requested (Training Matrix, Compliance report, and training forecast to be displayed in the crib hut and Supervisors' office). This information should be represented on a Site Training Calendar.
  • Ensure confidentiality of candidate/trainee information, disclosing data only with written consent or as required by law or the VET Quality Framework.
  • Record accurate details of trainees and the units in which they have demonstrated competency.

About you

  • Cert IV Trainer Assessor is essential.
  • Caterpillar product knowledge is an advantage.
  • Current Mobile Plant Mechanic certification.
  • Experience delivering AUR training package material.
  • Experience developing AUR training material.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Adaptability to learn and support new and rapidly changing technologies.
