Finance Officer

Are you a motivated and experienced finance professional with a proactive mindset and a flair for building strong working relationships? We are seeking a Finance Officer (EL 1/APS 6) to join a dynamic government department. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety in their day-to-day tasks, and is keen to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial processing across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Credit card and travel management
  • Internal budget tracking and support
  • Cash flow and financial reporting
  • Daily use and maintenance of the CBMS system
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders to clarify and understand financial needs
  • Interpreting and responding to financial requests and data queries
  • Active problem-solving and researching to deliver outcomes

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience with external budgeting
  • Familiarity with Expense8 (travel and expense management system)

  • Communicate effectively across departments
  • Ask the right questions to gain clarity and context
  • Take a methodical approach to solving complex tasks
  • Be proactive, curious, and self-motivated
