We are seeking to establish a pool of Teacher – Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Willetton SHS is one of the largest schools in Western Australia, with a student population in excess of 2700, approximately 230 teaching staff and 145 support staff on campus. The Role

The suitable applicants should have a deep belief that every student is capable of successful learning and exhibit highly effective teaching practices and a willingness to seek constant improvement in their own practice. You will ideally have high expectations, exhibit a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and can establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. An excellent knowledge of the West Australian Curriculum and a capacity to deliver content in an engaging manner are also desirable qualities. Applicants who can successfully deliver Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Accounting and Finance, and Business Management and Enterprise are encouraged to apply, especially teachers who can extend student learning into authentic real-world contexts.

The suitable applicants will be given the opportunity to work across Years 7 to 12 and bring their expertise to the Learning Area, applying their knowledge of the HASS curriculum. The applicant will ideally be student focused, highly motivated and innovative. The applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills, be enthusiastic and be able to work cooperatively in a large collaborative Learning Area team. Strong classroom management skills, the ability to develop rapport and motivate students, the ability to differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and to practise a range of high impact teaching strategies are highly desirable.

The ability and initiative to work well with your colleagues as part of a team to develop teaching strategies, resources and approaches to ensure each student can reach their maximum potential should ideally be addressed in your application.
