We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong AWS development, DevOps, and security skills to support large-scale cloud infrastructure and automation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS SDK, CloudFormation, and best practices for cloud security, along with a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions in enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation and other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Develop and maintain automation pipelines for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) using AWS DevOps toolsets.
  • Implement AWS security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth and secure deployment of applications and services.
  • Optimise cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work with AWS SDK to integrate cloud services into applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, performance, and deployment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise governance and regulatory requirements (including NHSD standards if applicable).
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer in AWS environments.
  • Strong AWS development, automation, and DevOps skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS SDK and CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of AWS security principles, IAM policies, and security automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Security – Specialty.
  • Experience in government or regulated environments, including NHSD compliance.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
