Overview

Morley Senior High School (SHS) in Western Australia is seeking to establish a pool of Design and Technology (D&T) – Aviation teachers for permanent and fixed-term, full-time and part-time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Role

Morley SHS is ideally seeking passionate and innovative D&T – Aviation Teachers to help shape the future of our students through our acclaimed Approved Specialist Aviation Program.


Ideally, we are seeking educators who are committed to delivering outstanding learning experiences and driving excellence in aviation education. The suitable applicants will ideally have experience and/or qualification in:

  • Commercial or Private Pilot's Licence
  • Flight Instructor accreditation
  • Experience in Air Traffic Control
  • Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) or a willingness to undertake drone operation training

This position offers flexible working arrangements, with negotiable FTE between 0.6 and 1.0, including dedicated Flying Time.


Our Aviation Program combines theoretical instruction, flight simulation, and real-world flying experiences, giving students the opportunity to take to the skies above Perth. We're seeking teachers with a multi-disciplinary approach, ideally with a strong foundation in Engineering, Physics, and a broad understanding of the Aviation Industry.


There is potential for the suitable applicants to lead the Aviation Specialist Program, contributing to its ongoing development and innovation. This includes integrating emerging technologies such as drones, enhancing student pathways, and building partnerships with industry leaders.


Morley SHS also maintains a sister school relationship with an aviation-focused school in Singapore, with plans to strengthen this international partnership.


As one of only four schools in WA offering a Specialist Aviation Program, Morley SHS provides a unique four-year pathway from Years 7 to 10, leading into Senior School, Australian Tertiary Admissions and Rank (ATAR) and General courses. The program supports students pursuing careers in aviation, science, engineering, and related fields.
