Assistant Retail Network Manager

FUEL DISTRIBUTORS OF WA is seeking an experienced Retail person (preferably from a Petrol and Convenience Store background) who has operated at Site Manager level and is ready to take their next career step up.

A challenging and exciting position which provides an opportunity for a person to look outside their own store and help the network develop and deliver operational and financial improvements at multiple sites.

Who are we?

Fuel Distributors of WA is a local supplier of fuel and lubricants to regional locations within WA. Our Retail network consists of Service Stations / Roadhouses in Dalwallinu, Merredin, York, Wagin, Manjimup, and Esperance. With the majority of our sites service stations providing a full kitchen offer.

What is the position?

This position works directly for our Retail Network Manager and together this team will review each site's operating practices to identify areas for improvement, whilst working with Site Managers to implement change and achieve site performance targets.

• Identifying areas for operational improvement at each Service Station / Roadhouse.
• Engaging and motivating a team of both permanent and casual employees.
• Implementing consistent retail practices across the network.

Who are we seeking?

Someone who has:

• Previous site level retail management experience – preferably within a petrol and convenience store with the following skills:
  • Solid experience in managing, training, and developing team members.
  • The ability to provide guidance regarding recruitment, development and where necessary performance management of casual staff.
  • Experience in analysing site financial performance and implementing improvements to achieve budgets.
  • Hands-on operational experience and understands what makes a site operate profitably.
  • The ability to assist each site to review and implement changes in shop and kitchen practices.
  • Understanding of Fuel Safety practices.
  • An ability to understand and monitor site budgets and maximise profitability at retail sites.
  • An ability to establish strong working relationships across site and head office levels.
  • A hands-on, self-starter with a can-do attitude and positive and professional attitude.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • The flexibility to travel regionally on a weekly basis.
  • Experience with Beacon POS and Back Office (Desirable).
  • Operational kitchen experience (Desirable).

This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis and will be based in Kwinana (Fuel Distributors Head Office) with travel to retail sites (a car will be provided).
