Are you a construction or project management student eager to gain real-world experience in both residential and retail construction? Dellwood Constructions is seeking a motivated Construction Cadet to join our team on a part-time basis. This role offers the chance to work alongside with our Director, Site Supervisor and Business Managerwhile developing hands-on skills and industry knowledge.

Dellwood Constructions is a boutique residential design and construct building company based on the Gold Coast.We specialise in high-quality home renovations, extensions, and custom builds. We pride ourselves on exceptional workmanship and a personalised approach to every project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Project Managers and Site Supervisors with day-to-day site operations on residential projects.
  • Engage in project planning, familiarise yourself with schedules, and gain exposure to residential budgeting.
  • Attend project meetings and liaise with clients, architects, and subcontractors.
  • Participate in site inspections, safety checks, quality assessments, and project documentation.
  • Support the procurement of materials and coordination with suppliers.
  • Acquire practical, on-site skills and understanding of residential construction standards.

Desired Qualities and Skills:

  • Passion for residential construction and the building industry.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a dynamic team.
  • Preliminary knowledge of construction concepts (residential experience a bonus but not essential).
  • Current driver's licence and reliable transport preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Currently studying (or recently graduated from) Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field at a recognised University or TAFE institution.
